PictureThe Wekiva Parkway    project is nearing  completion and with it the Toll Bypass Loop around Orlando will be complete!

It will finish out a much needed Toll Road bypass loop around Orlando.  It will complement with the 417 to the South and East to provide easy access from Apopka to nearly anywhere around Central Florida without having to drive through downtown.  From my own home in Apopka, I can be at OIA, Downtown Orlando, Maitland, the attractions, or just about anywhere else in under 30 minutes.  The original stretch of 429 built in the early 2000s connected I-4 south of Disney to the Turnpike and finally to US441 in Apopka.  This put Apopka on the map and jump started growth.  Apopka grew rapidly until the 2008 crash.  Even through the crash, more people continued to move into Apopka and the new construction builders were still finding Buyers.  This year the 429 has been expanded north to SR 46 in Mount Dora and its construction will continue Eastward until it reaches I-4 at the 417.  Apopka will go from being 'on the map' to being one of the most desirable suburbs of Orlando due to the natural beauty, reasonable prices, and quality of life.
